The City of Manitowoc’s Department of Tourism has introduced a new way to explore the city.
Visit Manitowoc’s Director of Tourism, Courtney Hansen, tells SeehaferNews.com that they have launched the Visit Manitowoc Passes program.
As part of the program, the organization has also launched the Public Arts Trail and Historic Landmark Trail, with Visit Manitowoc explaining, “Visitors and residents may access these mobile exclusive trail passes for free, complete the trail by checking in at each location, and then claim a reward for completing the pass.”
Iconic stops on these trails include the Ruth West Imagination mural at the corner of 8th Street and Maritime Drive, the S.S. Badger Lake Michigan Carferry ticket office, and the Sputnik Crash Site, among many more.
Tourism Director Hansen also noted, “We believe our new pass program will inspire deeper exploration of our city and enhance the visitor experience by shining a light on our destination’s creativity and rich history.”
Once signed up for either of the passes, residents and visitors have one year to check in via GPS at each of the locations to earn points, which can be claimed for a special, trail-specific reward.
