It will be a busy day on area ball diamonds.
Manitowoc Lutheran and Reedsville finally open their baseball seasons today and will do so on the road.
Manitowoc Lutheran participates in a two-day tournament in Mauston and will play Cameron at noon, then Stratford at 1:45 this afternoon, while Reedsville heads to Howards Grove to battle the Tigers.
The game was originally scheduled to be played in Reedsville, but was moved to the Grove.
Mishicot will spend today and tomorrow at the Adams Friendship Invitational, with the Indians playing Northwestern at 12:30 this afternoon.
Two Rivers hosts Plymouth, Brillion heads to Hilbert, and Denmark will play two games at the Mauston Tournament, with their first game against Cameron at 10:00 this morning, then the Vikings battle Escanaba, Michigan, at 6:15 p.m. tonight.
Other games on the diamond include Kohler/Sheboygan Christian at Laconia, Green Bay Preble plays Ashwaubenon at Capital Credit Union Park in Green Bay, Pulaski hosts Bay Port, New London entertains Notre Dane Academy of Green Bay, Green Bay NEW Lutheran is at Tigerton, Random Lake is home for Central Wisconsin Christian of Waupun, Sturgeon Bay ventures to Shawano, Sevastopol has a long road trip to Shiocton Gibraltar/Washington Island travels to Oconto Falls and Wrightstown heads to Appleton to meet Fox Valley Lutheran.
Meanwhile, the Manitowoc Lincoln girls’ softball team plays its fourth game in five days as they travel to Oshkosh West to battle the Wildcats.
The Wildcats were undefeated in three games heading into yesterday’s game with Appleton North, while the Ships had split their first two games heading into yesterday’s home game with Pulaski.
First pitch is scheduled to be thrown at 5:00 p.m.
Two other games of local interest include Valders travelling to Fond Du Lac to play Winnebago Lutheran and Two Rivers hosting Shawano.
