For the first time ever, Manitowoc Lutheran fielded a girls’ soccer team yesterday (April 8th).
Coach Phil Stuebs tells SeehaferNews.com that the girls battled hard, but fell short against New Holstein 8-5.
Senior Stevie Brunner made her impact felt, netting the school’s first hat trick, while Junior Ava Stuebs and Freshman Ava Glodowski rounded out the scoring.
Stuebs was instrumental in the offensive attack, as she also contributed assists to every goal that didn’t come directly off her foot.
Senior Eve Overland was very busy in net, making 7 saves.
Despite the 0-1 start, there were plenty of positive things to take from the matchup, which the Lady Lancers hope will transfer to their next game, which will be in Sturgeon Bay next Tuesday.
