A criminal complaint provides more details about why a Sheboygan man is now facing attempted homicide charges.
24-year-old Tommie Dixon is facing charges in two cases after an incident involving an officer involved shooting in September 2024.
The complaint says Sheboygan Police received a call about a person waving a gun in the air near a chiropractic clinic.
When a male and female officer arrived, they found Dixon on a bench, and he denied knowing about the call.
The complaint alleges that officers attempted to obtain the 24-year-old’s name, but he provided a false one.
Body camera footage from the male officer would then appear to show the female officer on the ground and Dixon holding onto the weapons holster with the gun still inside.
The Sheboygan Police Officer says Dixon was “attempting to manipulate the firearm to get it out of the holster.”
Dixon was then shot multiple times.
In an interview with the West Bend Police Department, which led the investigation into the police-involved shooting, the 24-year-old said he “was trying to get away from the situation” and brushed off the officer to “get the gun away from her so she would not shoot him.”
Dixon has since been charged with attempted 1st-degree intentional homicide in a 2025 criminal complaint after he faced charges of resisting or obstructing an officer, disarming an officer, and felony bail jumping charges.
He’s scheduled to return to Sheboygan County Court on May 18th for a final pre-trial before his trial begins on May 26th for both cases.
