Chris Taylor appears set to be a new justice for the Wisconsin Supreme Court.
Unofficial results show Taylor ran away with the race and secured roughly 60 percent of the vote as of late last night.
Locally, it was a much closer race. Manitowoc County voters cast 9,096 votes for Taylor, while 9,264 votes were in favor of Maria Lazar.
Taylor’s victory means the liberal side of the bench will have control of the state’s high court until at least 2030.
Taylor told supporters last night that Lazar had called to concede, and then thanked the voters who backed her up in the contest.
