There aren’t many contested races outside of the cities of Manitowoc County.
County Clerk Jessica Backus explains that races in the villages of Cleveland, Francis Creek, Valders, and Whitelaw either have exactly the number of candidates needed, meaning there won’t be contested races or some seats will be vacant.
The same goes for the villages of Kellnersville, Maribel, St. Nazianz, and Reedsville. Same with school boards in Brillion, Denmark, Kewaunee, Kiel, Manitowoc, Reedsville, Two Rivers, and Valders.
However, there will be a contested race in Mishicot, with candidates Mellisa Wiesner, Gavin Sikula, and Shawn Driscoll running for two seats on the board.
Brillion Public Schools is also asking voters to approve them going over their revenue limit by $2,275,000 for three years for maintenance and student needs.
The Denmark School District is also doing a referendum.
They are asking voters to approve allowing them to exceed their revenue limit by $925,000 a year beginning next school year.
