Thirteen students and teachers from Two Rivers High School traveled to Domažlice last month for the sixth student exchange between the sister cities.
This continues a long-standing tradition of cultural connection between the historically linked cities.
During the ten-day visit, students stayed with host families, giving them a firsthand look at daily life in the Czech Republic while strengthening friendships formed during the Czech students’ visit to Two Rivers earlier in the school year.
The group participated in a wide range of cultural and educational activities, including a formal reception at City Hall, visits to local schools, and traditional Czech folk events.
Students also took a trip to Prague, explored the Chodsko region, and hiked to the summit of Mount Čerchov, learning about the area’s history and traditions along the way.
One of the highlights of the trip was the collaborative performance Visitors on Stage, which brought together American and Czech students through music and dance.
Performances in Domažlice and nearby Furth im Wald, Germany, celebrated the strong bond between the two communities and commemorated the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II.
The exchange provided students with a unique opportunity to share their talents, immerse themselves in another culture, and build lasting international connections, reinforcing the importance of global understanding and friendship.
