Hundreds of individuals in Wisconsin have received state funding for job training, including two organizations in Sheboygan County.
Governor Tony Evers and the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development (DWD) have announced that over $1.5 million has been awarded through Fast Forward grants to help train Wisconsinites in in-demand jobs.
In Sheboygan County, Aurora Health Care received over $325,000 to train 60 workers as forensic nurse examiners through a partnership with the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
Additionally, Nemak USA Inc. in Sheboygan was awarded $400,000 to train 70 current workers in mechanical power systems, Computer Numeric Control, fluid power, robotics, and other skills for high-pressure die casting jobs via their partnership with Advanced Technology Services Inc.
Happy to make the announcement, Governor Evers stated, “I’m proud we’re getting these funds out the door to employers in our state that are working to offer the critical training tools folks need to grow their careers, all the while ensuring our essential industries have the skilled workforce they need to thrive.”
