Manitowoc Lincoln and Valders open their 2026 conference girls’ softball season this afternoon on the road.
Valders, fresh off qualifying for their first state tournament in Division Three last season, open their season with an EWC game at Sheboygan Falls against the co-op of Sheboygan Falls/ Kohler.
The Vikings have a good corps of seniors back, including one of the top pitchers in northeast Wisconsin, Megan Hockammer.
Other seniors returning include third baseman Addison Spindler, second baseman Madison Bergel, infielder Abby Schultz, right fielder Anna Olson, along with Mackeena Kaderabek and Audrey Wagner, who unfortunately won’t play this season due to injury.
The first pitch is scheduled to be thrown at 4:00 p.m.
Manitowoc Lincoln’s home and season opener against Fond Du Lac was postponed to Monday (yesterday), as the visiting Cardinals eked out a 2-1 victory over the Ships.
They will open FRCC play on the road with a game at Sheboygan North against the Golden Raiders.
Also, this afternoon, Roncalli hosts Kiel, and Two Rivers looks to improve to 3 and 1 on the season as they host New Holstein at Viet Nam Memorial Park.
All three of those games are scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m.
