A grant for Lakeshore College will support multiple programs.
The college was awarded a $1.5 million grant from the Wisconsin Technical College System to support a range of initiatives aimed at improving student success, expanding workforce training, and strengthening educational pathways.
A portion of the funding will expand the college’s Maintenance Mechanic Millwright apprenticeship program by investing in industry-aligned equipment and aims to increase enrollment capacity to better prepare students for high-demand careers.
The grant will also strengthen Lakeshore College’s Dental Hygiene program by supporting accreditation efforts, initial curriculum instruction, and the purchase of specialized supplies essential for hands-on training.
Lakeshore College will also use the funding to expand its collaboration with K-12 partners, helping high school students access dual credit opportunities.
College President Paul Carlsen says the college is grateful for the grant as they “work to meet the evolving needs of our students, employers, and communities.”
