There will be no trial for a discrimination lawsuit against the University of Wisconsin – Madison.
Lawyers for former assistant professor Ahmed Mahmoud and the university told a judge a settlement was reached to avoid a trial, which was scheduled to begin this week.
Mahmoud filed the lawsuit two years ago claiming he was discriminated against when he wasn’t given tenure by the university, where he started working in 2017.
His accusations were based on his ethnicity, with Mahmoud being Egyptian, Arab, and Muslim.
