The calendar may say it’s April, but as we all know, Wisconsin weather is about as fickle as it gets.
Case in point, the National Weather Service in Green Bay has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Manitowoc County and all northeast Wisconsin from 3:00 a.m. to 10:00 this morning (April 2nd) for accumulating freezing rain, sleet, and snow that will impact the morning commute.
This combination, along with gusty northeast winds, will likely result in power outages and broken tree limbs, especially north and west of the Fox Valley, where significant ice and sleet accumulations are expected.
In addition, warmer air will quickly move back into the area, mixing with the departing colder air aloft that will produce thunderstorms late Thursday afternoon and evening, some of which may be strong to severe, producing heavy rain and strong winds.
Meanwhile, another significant system late Friday into Saturday will bring thunderstorms with heavy rainfall to the Lakeshore, with a wintry mix likely across northern Wisconsin that will likely impact travel for the beginning of the weekend.
