Authorities in Dane County are warning of a computer fraud scam that left two victims out of loads of money.
The sheriff’s office says the two victims were hit with pop-up alerts warning them their bank accounts were hacked.
The scammers then posed as US Marshals, and convinced the victims from Windsor and Pleasant Springs to send payments.
Law enforcement believes they lost up to a combined $358,000 in the scam.
DCSO noted residents should contact their banks directly should they receive a similar alert.
