The father of the man pulled from Lake Michigan earlier this week has confirmed his identity.
The body of 20-year-old Johnathan Shields Jr. was located at around 12:30 Monday afternoon, after he was first reported missing the previous day.
Johnathan Shields Sr., Johnathan’s father, posted an 18-minute video recalling the entire ordeal, from when he was told Johnathan was missing to the moment he received the call saying they found his body.
Shields said in the video, “I know my son had a lot of people who loved him…I can’t imagine what my son was dealing with or going through.”
He went on to say “My baby had so much life. He had so much love, and friends (who called themselves the Wolf Pack), and his mom and his brothers and sister. I can’t imagine burying my son.”
The full video can be found on the Shields and Sanders Auto Body Facebook page.
Those looking to help support the family can send cash, checks, or money orders to the auto body shop, located at 7807 State Highway 147 in Two Rivers, or send a donation via CashApp to ShieldsLLC85.
