
A local nonprofit has unveiled the nominees for their upcoming volunteer award show.
The United Way of Sheboygan County’s 2026 Spirit Awards will be held on April 30th at the Osthoff Resort in Elkhart Lake.
This year’s nominees for the Youth Volunteer of the Year Award include Olivia Gephart of Oostburg Middle School, Brooke Heilman from Howards Grove, Plymouth High School’s Riley McCulley, and Taylor Quackenbush and Yasin Zohor, students from Sheboygan North High School.
Those in the running for the Community Spirit Award include Johnsonville, the Kohler Company, Van Horn Auto, the Vollrath Company, and Vesta CPA’s.
Additionally, Camp Anokijig and Above and Beyond Children’s Museum have been nominated for this year’s Outstanding Volunteer Board of Directors Award. Additional awards to be handed out at the Spirit Awards include the Croup or Team Volunteers of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, the Lifetime Achievement Award, and the Transformative Philanthropy Award.
On what these yearly awards mean to them and the community, the United Way noted, “The Spirit Awards are an annual celebration honoring the remarkable individuals, teams, and companies that embody the true spirit of giving in our community. This event recognizes those who dedicate their time and talents to creating meaningful solutions and driving positive change without expecting anything in return.”
