A man who the Fond du Lac County District Attorney’s Office described as an illegal migrant has been charged in an attempted homicide case.
District Attorney Eric Toney says Luis Antonio Sevilla Benavidez is facing charges of attempted 1st-degree intentional homicide, mayhem, and aggravated battery with domestic abuse and dangerous weapons modifiers.
The charges stem from an incident involving a stabbing in the City of Fond du Lac on March 21st.
Benavidez was taken into custody at the scene, and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security advised Toney’s department that the defendant has no legal status and is here illegally.
The suspect is anticipated to make his initial appearance on April 1st in front of Judge Trica Walker at 11:00 a.m. at the Fond du Lac County Courthouse.
Toney is not providing any additional information at this time.
