City officials in Plymouth are warning residents of a scam making the rounds through the community.
In a post on their Facebook page, the City of Plymouth has said that scammers are targeting residents posing as the Planning Commission.
Through the scam, fraudulent emails are being sent out, supposedly from the Planning Commission, stating that a potential victim has unpaid invoices that require immediate action via wire transfer.
As part of their announcement on the matter, officials stated that the City of Plymouth will never request any invoice to be paid through a wire transfer.
Plymouth residents uncertain about the status of an invoice they may have are encouraged to contact the City Clerk/Treasurer’s Office by calling 920-893-1271.
