The Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office is recognizing one of its deputies for 25 years of service.
Jail Sergeant and Court Officer James Ott began his career in March 2001, before he was promoted to Jail Sergeant in December 2010, where he was a supervisor on third shift for eight years.
In 2018, James transitioned to his current role as a court officer.
The Sheriff’s Office continues to explain that Ott’s job is to serve as the court and inmate facilitator and scheduler, coordinating all inmate court appearances, both in person and over Zoom.
He also manages scheduling, communication, and movement between jail and courts, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and seamless coordination across multiple agencies.
Ott has also contributed to many key functions within the jail, including the classification program, serving as a Field Training Officer, and working as a POSC instructor.
The Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office finished by congratulating Ott for his years of service and saying that they are proud to have him as part of the team.
