The Manitowoc Unit of Fish & Game has made a donation to help the planting of trees.
The organization donated $2,000 to the City of Manitowoc Tree Planting program, specifically for trees at Lincoln Park Zoo.
A total of eight trees and shrubs of various species will be planted from the kayak launch north toward Reed Avenue along the Bayshore Trail.
The local Fish and Game Unit noted that the program “should be very beneficial for the environment, wildlife, birds and pollinators.”
Planting will be taking place this spring, and signage will also be installed.
The organization will be holding its next meeting on April 8th at Lincoln Park Cabin #1, with Woodland Dunes Nature Center Executive Director Sue Crowley slated as the guest speaker.
The meeting will begin at 7:00 p.m., and all are welcome to attend.
