
The Manitowoc Lutheran Lancers’ Track and Field team fared well at an event hosted at the JFK Fieldhouse.
The team captured 2nd place at the Earl Herbert Indoor Track and Field Invite, earning 105 points and finishing behind 1st-place Appleton East, which scored 128.
The Lancers were led by Senior Trenton Schuettpelz, who finished in 1st place in three events, including the 55m hurdles, high jump, and triple jump.
He was also given the Dave Dorak Award for being the meet’s most outstanding athlete.
Schuettpelz also broke the Lancer’s 27-year-old school record in the triple jump by going 45 feet and 3 inches in the air.
Lancer’s Sophomore Roman DiMarco also won the long jump with a 19-foot, 10-inch jump, while Senior Issac Wagner took second, jumping 19 feet, 8 inches.
Another Manitowoc Lutheran student did well in the 200-meter race.
Senior Ben Harrison finished in 2nd with a final time of 25.39 seconds.
