No Kings protests will be taking place across the country this weekend, including locally.
Sheboygan’s No Thrones, No Crowns rally will take place tomorrow from noon to 1:30 p.m. at Sheboygan Peace Park.
When describing the reason for another such protest, No Kings explained, “When our families are under attack, and costs are pushing people to the brink, silence is not an option. We will defend ourselves and our communities against this administration’s unjust and cruel acts of violence.”
In Sheboygan, protesters are also encouraged to bring food donations to the event, which will be donated to the Sheboygan County Food Bank, with preferred items including peanut butter, cans of tuna, and cereal.
No Kings is also coming to Manitowoc again. It will take place in Washington Park from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. with a speech from Pastor Matt Sauer and featuring the Raging Grannies.
As always, No Kings finished by explicitly stating, “A core principle behind all No Kings events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.”
