A Manitowoc man had some of his child pornography charges dropped.
20-year-old Brandon Lemerond was facing charges of eight felony counts of Child Sexual Exploitation and 10 felony counts of Possession of Child Pornography in Manitowoc County Court, but the charges were dropped in favor of the federal case against him.
Lemerond is facing federal charges of Production of Child Pornography, two counts of Obscene Visual Depictions of the Sexual Abuse of Children, and three counts of Commission of a Felony Sex Offense by an Individual Required to Register as a Sexual Offender.
These charges stem from violations that occurred in July of last year and could land him in prison for over 100 years.
Lemerond is currently being held in the Dodge Correctional Institution in Waupun as the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Wisconsin prosecutes the case.
