The Sheboygan County Chamber of Commerce is highlighting the work of an award-winning local organization.
Sheboygan’s Above and Beyond Children’s Museum was recently named the 2026 Tourism Gem at the 2026 Chamber Champions Gala and Awards Show, and now the Chamber is diving deeper into the work they do.
On what it means to have won this award, Above and Beyond said, “We’re a children’s museum: we make messes, we get loud, and we believe deeply that play is serious work. To be recognized as a Tourism Gem feels like the community is saying they believe that, too!”
Last year was transformational for the museum, filled with new programs, newfound community partnerships, and multiple new exhibits.
In total, those aspects were a driving force behind Above and Beyond generating just over $1.4 million in tourism revenue for the community in 2025.
Above and Beyond also noted that the work never really stops, stating, “We have exciting new initiatives on the horizon – including expanded infant programming and a new mental health exhibit – and this recognition gives us even more energy to pursue them.”
