The City of Manitowoc is continuing to update its zoning code.
City Planner Paul Braun told the city’s Plan Commission last night that they are still working on Chapter 15 of the code and have more to go before changes could be made in the future.
Manitowoc held an open house in September last year that showcased some proposed changes.
The city’s zoning code hasn’t been updated since the 1980s, and according to staff, it doesn’t always reflect the best zoning and planning practices.
Proposed changes to the code could include options for smaller minimum lot sizes, two-family and duplexes in more areas, and smaller front yards in the urban core to increase buildable area, among others.
More information can be found online at manitowoc.org under their zoning update website.
