The Manitowoc Public School District is cutting the ribbon for Bruce Steinbecker Field.
A field dedication will take place next Friday, April 3rd, at 4:15 p.m. before a game against Winneconne, with the first pitch set for 4:30 p.m.
The district says there will be a short presentation recognizing Lincoln Baseball Coach Bruce Steinbecker, Maurice Jones with family, and Andy Konkle.
There will be members of the high school choir singing the national anthem before the start of the game.
The MPSD school board approved using $900,000 for the renovation of the field back in 2024, while a separate group of people has been raising money.
Construction of the field included new bleachers, a concessions stand, and brand-new turf installed.
The total cost of the project was around $1.2 million.
