Various road projects in Sheboygan County will affect motorists this week.
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation has announced that lane closures on I-43 will begin today (March 24th) in both the northbound and southbound lanes from State Highway 28 to State Highway 42, while a 14-foot width restriction will also be put in place on the bridges above State Highway 23 as well.
These particular lane closures will not last for the duration of the project, which is estimated to be completed in the fall, however, motorists will experience reduced lanes over the 10-mile stretch of highway at various locations until October.
Additionally, the DOT has shared that scheduled maintenance to the northbound lane of I-43 between Wilson Lima Road and County Road V will also begin on Wednesday (March 25th) at 7:00 a.m. and last until 3:00 p.m. This will allow crews to complete repairs to a beam guard.
This work will continue during the same time period on Thursday (March 26th) and Friday (March 27th), causing a lane closure in the area all three days.
