Two teens were arrested in Grand Chute after they were caught driving recklessly and fled from police.
An officer with the Grand Chute Police Department observed a vehicle driving recklessly in a parking lot in the 3700 block of West College Avenue in the Town of Grand Chute at around 12:30 Saturday morning.
The driver continued his dangerous driving as he exited the parking lot, leading the officer to attempt a traffic stop.
The driver then turned off all of the vehicle’s lights and took off through a residential neighborhood at speeds described as “significantly over the posted speed limit.”
The vehicle was found a short time later, abandoned and stuck in the snow on South Timmers Lane.
Police on scene located two males fleeing on foot, one of whom quickly surrendered.
The other kept running, so a K-9 unit from a neighboring agency was called in to help with the search.
The second suspect was located in a dumpster in the 3600 block of West Prospect Avenue and was arrested without further incident.
The driver, an 18-year-old male from Manawa, was arrested on charges of Recklessly Endangering Safety, Felony Bail Jumping, Misdemeanor Bail Jumping, and Resisting Arrest, and was cited for OWI and Unreasonable and Imprudent Speed.
The passenger was a 19-year-old Mosinee male, who was arrested for Resisting Arrest and cited for Underage Drinking.
No injuries were reported.
