The Manitowoc Symphony Orchestra is celebrating its 75th year by starting a new nine-year cycle of Beethoven’s influential and superb symphonies.
Over the next nine years, all of Beethoven’s symphonies will be performed, an undertaking which begins on April 11th with Beloved (1 of 9): Beethoven & Bruch.
Violinist and Manitowoc native Andrew Dunlap will be returning home for the show, where he will perform the “daring, dazzling, uber-emotive Bruch violin concerto in g minor.”
Tickets are available at CCCShows.org. Additionally, the MSO is teaming up with PetSkull Brewing for Where Beethoven Meets Beer, The inaugural release is a Kölsch-style beer, a nod to a classic European tradition with roots not far from Beethoven’s home known as “Light the Dynamite.”
That beer will be launched on March 31st, with tickets available at ManitowocSymphony.org.
