Manitowoc’s next police chief has been sworn in.
John Musial took the oath of office in Mayor Justin Nickel’s office yesterday afternoon.
Outgoing Police Chief Nick Reimer said, after the oath, he again feels very confident in Musial taking over, after he served as the department’s head for about 10 years.
Musial was born and raised in Manitowoc and told Seehafernews.com that he wanted to get into law enforcement after 9/11.
He’s also held several positions, including lieutenant and captain, and was the former assistant chief of police for 8 months prior.
Captain Craig Jansen was tasked to become the next assistant police chief after a meeting of Manitowoc’s Police and Fire Commission back in February.
Jansen has been with the Manitowoc Police Department since being hired as a patrol officer in March 2003.
