The Two Rivers Police Warrant Service Team has completed its first successful arrest.
The team, which consists of Two Rivers and a Mishicot Police Officer, was created to safely, efficiently, and professionally execute arrest and search warrants, especially those involving elevated risk, but not to the level requiring the Manitowoc County SWAT Team.
The search warrant was coordinated by Detective Megan Klumpyan and a Wisconsin Department of Justice Criminal Investigation Analyst and led to the arrest of a Two Rivers man who will face 10 counts of possession of child pornography.
Two Rivers Police Chief Ben Meinnert says the Warrant Service Team improves officer safety and operational effectiveness by ensuring that high-risk arrests are handled by personnel trained in tactical planning, de-escalation, and coordinated entry techniques.
Court records show that the suspect has not been officially charged, so we will not be releasing his name at this time.
