Two cats did not make it after a fire in the City of Plymouth.
The Plymouth Fire Department Assistant Chief Jason McCoy says firefighters were called to the reported structure fire on Wednesday (March 18th) just after 1:30 p.m. on Caroline Street.
Fire crews initiated an interior attack on the first floor of the structure, bringing the fire under control, but requested a MABAS alarm to bring in extra help.
Salvage and overhaul operations continue for the duration of the call, with additional crews performing ventilation and checking for fire extension to the upper floor and attic of the structure.
The Sheboygan County Fire Investigation Unit was called to the scene to assist with documentation and determining the cause and origin of the fire.
The fire is still under investigation, and no property loss estimate is available.
McCoy extended his thanks to responding agencies, including Cascade First Responders, Elkhart Lake, Glenbeulah, and Greenbush Fire Departments, along with Orange Cross Ambulance, Sheboygan County Fire Investigation Unit, and the Town of Sheboygan Falls Fire Department.
