Valders Fire Rescue is asking residents to help them keep fire hydrants clear.
Buried hydrants delay firefighters if they must respond to an emergency and put lives and property at risk during the winter.
Valders Fire Rescue explains that firefighters need immediate access to water to prevent or put out fires.
Over the next few days, snowplows will push back the snow banks, which will bury the hydrants again.
Hydrants can be found if a small pole is attached to them, if they are buried in the snow.
Residents should carefully dig around the fire hydrant to avoid damaging it during the clearing process.
