An Eastern Wisconsin State Senator is being honored by the Wisconsin State Firefighters Association.
At its annual convention in Green Bay over the weekend, the WSFA recognized Senator Andre Jacque of New Franken for his “exceptional leadership and advocacy for legislation supporting the Wisconsin volunteer fire service.”
The group specifically recognized Senator Jacque for his advocacy of legislation to extend Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) coverage to volunteer and part-time firefighters and EMS personnel.
Assembly Bill 651 passed both legislative chambers with overwhelming bipartisan support and is now awaiting the governor’s signature.
Sen. Jacque thanked the organization for the honor, saying, “These heroes willingly sacrifice their time and personal safety as a first response to safeguard our communities from numerous threats and deserve our utmost support and appreciation.”
