The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service is issuing a public health alert for a Costco brand product.
The store’s frozen ready-to-eat turkey stuffed pastry products have been misbranded as some boxes of the turkey, pesto, and cheese stuffed pastries contain ham and cheese instead.
Those who shop at Costco are asked to check to see if the cheese-stuffed pastries were packaged on February 18th, 2026, as they could contain ham and cheese.
The products bear the establishment number of “P-51243A,” and the items were shipped to Costco locations across the Midwest, including Wisconsin.
The problem was discovered when the establishment notified the FSIS that is receive two consumer complaints regarding the turkey and cheese stuffed pastry boxes containing the wrong filling.
There have been no reports of adverse reactions due to the consumption of the products.
FSIS is concerned that some mislabeled products could be in customers’ freezers, and anyone who purchased the product should check their package to see if it has been affected.
