Over half of a foot of snow has descended upon Eastern Wisconsin, and the state has been called in to help in various areas.
The Wisconsin State Emergency Operations Center has been in communication with county and tribal emergency managers and has received reports of highways being impassable, vehicle crashes, and some power outages.
Plows have been out all over the state to clear up the mess, but with the snow continuing to fall and wind gusting at speeds up to 35 MPH, that task will be an ongoing issue for a while.
The SEOC is actively coordinating resources and support with several state agencies including the Wisconsin Department of Military Affairs, Department of Transportation, Department of Natural Resources, and Department of Health Services.
So far, they have been asked to provide vehicles, personnel, and blankets to stranded motorists, and have staged shelters at various America Red Cross locations.
The weather has caused a large number of closures in our area, all of which you can see at SeehaferNews.com.
