Manitowoc Public Utilities had to deal with a major power outage yesterday.
The high winds caused the lines of a specific circuit to gallop, which means they were slapping together, repeatedly causing outages starting at 2:35 p.m.
Power was restored just before 4:00, but another outage was reported about an hour later. MPU reports that their staff was “able to stabilize the line to hopefully alleviate any further wind-related issues.”
They thanked the public for their patience and asked anyone experiencing an outage to call 920-683-4622.
