The man convicted in a Green Bay stabbing has been sentenced.
31-year-old Jaharrie Jelks was convicted by a jury in January on charges of Attempted 1st-Degree Intentional Homicide, False Imprisonment, Disorderly Conduct, Armed Robbery with Threat of Force, Operating a Vehicle Without the Owner’s Consent, and Misdemeanor Bail Jumping.
He returned to court on Friday, where he was sentenced to spend 25 years in prison followed by 20 years of extended supervision.
Jelks was arrested in December of 2024 after Green Bay Police located a 56-year-old man on Western Avenue with stab wounds to his chest and back.
Jelks had fled the scene, but was later identified by the victim out of a lineup after he was arrested in an auto theft case.
His legal troubles aren’t over yet, as Jelks has three other open cases for charges of Making Terrorist Threats, 2nd Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety, Resisting or Obstructing an Officer, and more.
