The Calumet County Sheriff’s Office has released more details about a fatal crash earlier this week.
Deputies were dispatched to the intersection of Highway 57 and Schneider Road in the Town of Chilton just before 8:15 Monday evening (March 9th).
The preliminary investigation revealed that a 77-year-old De Pere man was driving north on 57 when he crossed into the southbound lane and struck two vehicles.
He died at the scene, while a 50-year-old Kiel man and a child passenger were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The 39-year-old Appleton man who was driving the third vehicle was uninjured.
Alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the crash, although the incident remains under investigation.
