Fond du Lac County’s District Attorney will be a special prosecutor in a Kenosha County case.
Eric Toney served in court on Wednesday (March 11th) for the initial appearance for 23-year-old Kamryn G. Harris, as he faces charges of 1st-degree intentional homicide, attempted homicide, 1st-degree recklessly endangering safety, and possession of a firearm.
The charges stem from a fatal shooting in the City of Kenosha in November last year.
Kenosha Police say Harris fired multiple times at three men before the gun he was using jammed.
One person was pronounced dead at the scene, the second victim received a cut, and the third victim was uninjured.
The 23-year-old was later arrested in Illinois for driving a stolen car. He’s in jail on a $2 million cash bail, and a preliminary hearing is set for April 2nd.
The Kenosha County District Attorney’s Office determined that an actual conflict of interest required a special prosecutor.
Toney agreed to assist with any legal questions or search warrants during the initial days of the investigation.
He then agreed to take the special prosecution assignment.
