Children in the City of Sheboygan will have the chance to learn more about their local officers this summer.
The Sheboygan Police Department has announced that they have begun accepting applications for its summer Junior Police Academy.
This summer, the department is offering two sessions, with the first running from June 15th to the 19th and the second being held from June 22nd to the 26th.
The academy is designed for students currently in grades six through eight and aims to take the mystery out of law enforcement in their community.
On what the academy offers students in Sheboygan, the department noted, “While the students that attend may not want to become police officers in the future, the program instills confidence and a sense of achievement that will benefit them for years to come.”
Those looking to register a child for the academy can do so online by visiting sheboyganpolice.com.
Registration is due by no later than May 15th, as long as spots are still available.
Anyone with questions regarding the Sheboygan Police Department’s Junior Police Academy is asked to contact School Resource Officer Jeremy Kegler via email at JK541@sheboyganwi.gov.
