Manitowoc County’s Executive says there is a surplus in three of their funds.
Bob Ziegelbauer explained on his Facebook page that the county’s Highway Fund is tentatively estimated to have a $450,000 surplus with one project from 2025 to finish, while the Human Services Fund has a surplus of $463,000.
There is also an additional funding from a state grant of $150,000.
Ziegelbauer explains that the county’s general fund has a $1.8 million surplus, along with additional revenue that needs to be posted.
That totals about $2.75 million in savings.
The county also received more money in sales tax revenue in 2025. About $7.9 million was received, even though the county budgeted for about $7.5 million.
