A 27-year-old man has been arrested after he allegedly attempted to sexually assault a teenage girl.
The Grand Chute Police Department was called to the 4300 block of West Wisconsin Avenue at 12:45 p.m. on March 1st to investigate a report of suspicious activity.
A 17-year-old girl told police that an unknown man had been following her closely and attempted to touch her as she left a store.
He had also approached several other female patrons and asked for their phone numbers, but had fled the scene prior to police arrival.
Then, on March 8th, police were again dispatched to the same area after an employee reported that the suspect had returned.
He was quickly detained without further incident.
The 27-year-old man was found to be on probation for a child enticement case, and was arrested on charges of Disorderly Conduct and for violating his probation.
The Grand Chute Police Department noted that the incident “serves as an important reminder to remain aware of your surroundings while out in public and to report suspicious or concerning behavior to law enforcement as soon as possible. Quick reporting helps officers respond quickly and prevent further incidents in the community.”
