Progressive Lakeshore People is leading a counter-protest after a white nationalist group was seen in Manitowoc.
The protest called No Nazis No Hate will take place tomorrow (March 12th) from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the corner of N. 8th Street and Maritime Drive.
Organizer Jill Iverson said in a statement about the protest, “We need to take back our public spaces and let them know hate is not welcome here.”
The group known as Patriot Front was seen in Manitowoc on Sunday (March 8th) holding a sign that said, “Deport Invaders.”
Iverson says neighbors are not invaders and that they seek to learn about and understand all people in Manitowoc and Sheboygan.
The group also recognized that Patriot Front has the right to protest, but doesn’t like where they were done.
She finished saying that both communities are home to diverse communities, and anyone who values inclusivity is welcome to protest with them.
