The Two Rivers Police Department has received a grant from the Wisconsin Department of Justice.
The $25,000 Drug Enforcement Grant will help focus on supporting the city’s Warrant Service Team.
The specialized team was developed last year in response to community concerns about drug activity and is designed to handle higher-risk warrant service operations and targeted enforcement assignments.
The city explains that establishing a dedicated team improves coordination and effectiveness when addressing drug-related investigations.
It also allows officers to do specialized operations that may not always fall within the scope or availability of regional SWAT resources.
The grant enhances the city’s drug enforcement capabilities without requiring additional resources from taxpayers.
