A Dane County man is heading to prison in connection to his girlfriend’s death.
James Barnes-Morris was sentenced yesterday to 15 years behind bars for killing 24-year-old Brooke Strattan of McFarland.
Strattan was reported missing in October of 2024, and her body was later found in a retention pond in Madison.
Police noted the victim was seen with Barnes-Morris shortly before her disappearance, and the pair were in a relationship.
Barnes-Morris’s prison sentence will be followed by ten years of extended supervision.
