A Kaukauna man charged with shooting his father to death has had a trial date set.
FOX11 reports that 46-year-old Gregory Juedes was back in Outagamie County Court last week. Juedes has entered pleas of not guilty and not guilty by reason of mental insanity to the charges he faces.
A jury would first determine if the 46-year-old is guilty of homicide, while a second phase would determine if he suffered from a mental disease or defect that left him unable to determine right from wrong.
Juedes was arrested in November 2024 after Appleton Police were called to the 1800 block of South Sanders Street on a report of a disturbance with a weapon.
When they arrived, they found the father, Daniel Juedes, with a gunshot wound.
Life-saving measures were attempted, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Gregory would flee in a vehicle and would later be arrested after a police pursuit.
A total of 14 rounds were found in the home, with multiple rounds hitting and killing Daniel.
Gregory will return to court on August 24th for jury selection for the trial.
