A bus driver southwest of Milwaukee is explaining why a parent was able to board his bus with a gun.
The incident occurred on February 26th in the Mukwonago Area School District when the mother of two students got on the bus with a firearm in a lockbox.
The company explained that the mother told the bus driver it wasn’t safe for her kids to get off the bus, and the driver thought she might be running from a domestic conflict.
The mother then told the driver she had a gun in the lockbox, and the driver took everybody to an alternate location where the police were waiting.
The driver self-reported the incident and was disciplined for breaking policy.
