Manitowoc County will be well represented at the WIAA State Girls Gymnastics meet Saturday in Wisconsin Rapids. Manitowoc Lincoln senior Khloe Jalbert will compete on the balance beam in Division One, while seniors Clara Sieracki and Addison Spindler of Valders/ Roncalli compete in Division Two.
Sieracki is competing in the All Around (floor, balance beam, uneven parallel bars, and vault), and Spindler is competing on the uneven parallel bars.
Competition begins at 10 a.m.
Meanwhile, Jalbert, Sieracki, and Spindler were named first-team All-Eastern Valley, and they are joined by senior McKenna Kaderabek of Valders/Roncalli.
The WIAA Boys State Team Wrestling Tournament began Friday night at the LaCrosse Center. In Division Two quarterfinals, Denmark fell to Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau/ Melrose Mindoro 51 to 22, while Cedar Grove/Belgium defeated Mineral Point 42 to 31 in the Division Three quarters, and they’ll face Auburndale in the semifinals.
In Division One, Bayport upset third seed Slinger by a score of 41 to 36, while top-seed Kaukauna took care of Milton 53 to 22.
Bayport draws Holmen, and Kaukauna takes on Brown Deer Co-op in the D-1 semifinals, which begin at 10 a.m. All three championships begin at 3 p.m. this afternoon.
