A Division Four Regional boys basketball championship is on the line tonight as crosstown rivals Manitowoc Lutheran and Roncalli tangle at Lancer Circle. The Lancers held off Omro 74 to 66 while Roncalli defeated Laconia 58 to 42 to set up tonight’s showdown.
These two teams met 12 days ago (February 23rd) at Lancer Circle, with the Jets holding off Manitowoc Lutheran 62 to 54. Coverage on “WOMT 100” and womtradio.com begins at 6:40 p.m.
Other regional finals in Division Four have unbeaten Kewaunee hosting St. Mary Catholic.
In Division Five, top-seed Reedsville is home to the upstart Gibraltar Vikings, who have pulled off two upsets to reach the regional final. Elsewhere in Division Five, Sheboygan Lutheran hosts Chesterton Academy of Milwaukee, and Elkhart Lake/ Glenbeulah entertains Green Bay NEW Lutheran.
Division Three Regional Finals have top-seeded Brillion at home against Little Chute, and Oostburg hosts Kingdom Prep Lutheran of Wauwatosa.
In Division Two, Pulaski plays at Notre Dame Academy of Green Bay, and West De Pere hosts Plymouth.
Division One games of local and area interest include Sheboygan North at Brookfield East, De Pere hosts Menominee Falls, Kimberly visits Appleton North, Neenah visits D.C. Everest, and Kaukauna hosts the Stevens Point Panthers. All games are scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
Meanwhile, berths for the WIAA State Girls Basketball Tournament will be clinched this afternoon as Sectional Finals are held throughout Wisconsin.
In Division Three, undefeated Oostburg plays Winneconne at the JFK Fieldhouse at Manitowoc Lincoln High School. Game time is 1:30 p.m.
In Division Four, Kewaunee battles St. Mary Catholic at Brillion. In Division One, Notre Dame Academy of Green Bay meets Stevens Point at D.C. Everest.
In Division Two, Xavier of Appleton and Beaver Dam meet at Sheboygan South, and in Division Five, Lourdes Academy of Oshkosh tangles with Fall River at Markesan.
All those games begin at 1 p.m.
