Authorities across the state are still seeking tips regarding a cold case with ties to Sheboygan County.
On August 10th, 1989, Rhys Pocan was last seen walking on National Avenue in Milwaukee, however, she would never be seen alive again or ever return home to her four daughters.
It is widely believed that she was abducted and murdered that night before having her body dismembered.
Later, her head and her hands were found in the Vernon Marsh in Waukesha County, while her torso was found in the Nichols Creek Wildlife Area in Sheboygan County, just miles south of Plymouth and west of the Village of Waldo.
To authorities, it is abundantly clear that her killer went to great lengths to try to cover up the crime.
At this time, Pocan’s murder case remains unsolved and open.
Anyone with information regarding Pocan’s disappearance, her murder, or anyone involved in the crime is urged to contact the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office at 920-459-3111, Sheboygan Countywide Crime Stoppers at 1-877-283-8436, or by utilizing the P3 Tips app.
